Chacha Pakistani Mehar Din passed away yesterday, and I thought we should definitely feature him. He used to be at the ceremony at Wagah Border everyday. He was a true patriot. I think you should definitely make an exception for him. Think about it.
The picture attached is one I took when I was at Wagah Border earlier this year.
A tribute to Chacha Pakistani Mehar Din (1922-2012), who dedicated his life to Pakistan, and was a regular at Wagah Border for the ceremony. People usually have a momentary burst of patriotism at the Wagah border, belting out national songs, and wearing green, but Chacha Pakistani used to go there everyday, traveling 40km everyday to reach his destination, mostly hitch-hiking, but also ready to walk all the way there. He would not get paid for his performance, but he would still go there everyday. Salute to Mehar Din. May his soul rest in peace."
He is truly an example of dedication and passion. May his memories always stay alive through us!
